Biography

Greetings everyone! My name is Spencer Williams and I am absolutely honored to become a Victory Scholar. I am from Orange Village, a town located in Cleveland Ohio and I graduated from The College of Wooster with a bachelor’s in Political Science.

During my basketball career as a Wooster Fighting Scot I was a 4-year starter, 3-time All-Conference selection as well as a 2-time All-Region honoree. I was selected as a captain my senior year and I finished my career as Wooster’s 7th leading scorer with 1644 total points. I also helped my team to an NCAC regular season championship, a conference tournament championship, as well as 4 straight NCAA tournament appearances including a run to the Division III “Elite 8”. I am blessed to have played under legendary coach Steve Moore, Divison III’s 2nd all-time winningest coach, as well as alongside unbelievable teammates, and in front of the most loyal fans in college basketball, otherwise known as the Downtown Rebounders.

This fall I will be attending Letterkenny Institute of Technology where I will be continuing my basketball career while pursuing my Masters of Arts degree in Governance, Compliance and Data Protection in Financial Services. I am extremely excited to be able to serve as a mentor and as a role model for the Irish youth. My college career was full of successes, but I do not believe any of them would be possible without countless challenges and disappointments.

I will use the platform as a Victory Scholar to facilitate the lessons, values and mindset it takes to internalize shortcomings and use them to reach greater goals. I am looking forward to using basketball as a way to make the broader community and ultimately the world a better place.
