Hi everyone! My name is Tom Rivard and I am ecstatic to be a member of the Victory Scholar and Sport Changes Life communities. I have roots in Worcester, Massachusetts, but I completed my undergraduate education at Colgate University in central New York, where I graduated magna cum laude with degrees in economics and political science. In my tenure at Colgate, I earned recognition as both a Patriot League All-Academic team member and Patriot League honor roll status. Despite missing my senior season to injury, I was a member of a graduating class that had the most conference wins in school history, in addition to leading our program to its first conference championship game since 2008 and first postseason tournament since 1996.

In the fall, I will be attending the J.E. Cairnes School of Business at NUI Galway to pursue a master’s degree in international finance. I am most excited to immerse myself within the Galway community and to leave a positive impression on an already remarkable culture. The sport of basketball has provided me with so many lasting relationships and experiences; I cannot wait to mentor the youth of Ireland and share these same opportunities through the game I love!
