This weekend our boys hosted a tournament at our home court, IT Carlow. It was awesome getting to see the other victory scholars play against each other. Jimmy, Matt B., Luke, and Matt all played great and seemed to fit right in with each of there teams. Even though I was rooting for IT Carlow it was cool seeing two of the scholars, Matt and Luke win the championship game. Not only did I film most of the games going on but I also made my first appearance as an assistant coach with Kojack. I absolutely love the way he coaches, I can’t wait to be apart of his team. You can see how much passion and love he has for the game. I can’t even begin to explain how excited I am to be able to continue playing basketball for another season!
It’s been 192 days since I stepped foot on the court in Albany, New York for what I thought would be my last time. Now I’ll be lacing up again in just 4 days until my first scrimmage and 27 days until my first game (but who’s counting!). When I got handed my jersey for this season I couldn’t help but smile. I have it hanging up right where I can see it. Most people know me as #31. It’s the number I’ve been wearing for years now but playing in a different country I felt like I needed to change it up a bit, I went with #24.
Tomorrow is a big day for IT Carlow. It’s our first day of classes and first day of practice at our home court. Back to the student-athlete life again!
