Sport Changes Life works in the community to inspire and raise the aspirations of young people, there are many ways in which we work with young people in the community, both through our programmes and our Victory Scholars. As a charity, we believe in helping young people reach their full potential, another way we do this is having young people complete work experience with our staff.
These past two days we’ve had Conall in the Sport Changes Life office, he has heard what Sport Changes Life do, why we work within the community and he even got to see it himself firsthand.
“From my small glimpse of the work Sport Changes Life do as an organisation, I believe they help many people on a regular basis. During my time doing work experience I had the opportunity to take part in the Over 50’s Active Ageing programme and I could see the effect it had on the lives of the participants, both mentally and physically. When I was at the Over 50’s programme, I had a go at playing badminton and pickleball, unfortunately I didn’t win anything as the participants were very competitive. I’ll definitely be back to try and get a win!
Sport has affected my life by keeping me mentally and physically healthy, I never saw how sport could change people’s lives, but my two days with sport changes lives has been a real eye opener.”
Thank you Conall Doran for choosing us for your work experience, we hope you have a wonderful summer and we wish you luck for your future!
