The Sport Changes Life Foundation is proud to announce the Victory Scholar Program Class of 2023.
The prestigious program, entering its 16th year, has previously awarded 197 US student athletes with the scholarship and looks ahead to another successful year working with young people all over Ireland.
This years class consists of 11 deserving student-athletes who have been awarded the opportunity to continue to play basketball in top tier Irish National Leagues, study a Masters program in an Irish University while delivering impactful community programs to young people.
The Foundation welcomes student athletes from 11 US colleges across 9 athletic conferences.
Looking ahead for 2022/23 year was Sport Changes Life Foundation’s co – founder and C.E.O, Gareth Maguire:
“As a Foundation we are hugely excited for the incoming group. Since the inception of the program we have seen it go from strength to strength and we are confident that this class will have a lasting impact on communities in Ireland. The pandemic has obviously had an impact on all of us and we are glad that we persevered with the program over the past two years even though we had reduced contacts with young people. We did not want to lose momentum of making a difference and we expect to get back up to full speed this year with our new class.
“Ultimately this is about working with local communities across the island of Ireland and we are confident our new class of Victory Scholars will grow into incredible leaders and have a positive influence where it is needed most. This is a really exciting time of year and we look forward to what’s in store for another special group of young men and women.”
