Hi everyone! My name is Daniel Vila and I am from Berwyn, Pennsylvania, just outside the city of Philadelphia. I attended Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, and received my bachelors degree in Global Environmental Change and Sustainability, Economics, and Engineering for Sustainable Development. I was a varsity letter winner all four years, and co-captain during my last season. I was the inaugural recipient of the Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Year award in 2017-18, which was the same year I helped lead the team to the conference championship. During my second year I also walked on the track team at Hopkins to compete in High Jump; I won a silver medal at the conference championship meet.
This year I will be attending the J.E. Cairnes School of Business at NUI Galway to pursue a master’s degree in Global Environmental Economics. While doing so, I will be playing for the Moycullen Basketball Club in the Super League, and working to coach/inspire youth in the Galway community. I am incredibly excited to continue my athletic career and education and demonstrate just how much Sport Changes Life.
