Biography

Hi everyone! My name is Tricia Byrne, I’m from Dunmore, Pennsylvania, and I am both grateful and excited to be joining Sport Changes Life as a Victory Scholar for the 2018-2019 year.  I recently graduated from The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA. During my four years as a student-athlete at HC, I studied Economics, Philosophy, and Political Science while serving on the executive board of an entirely student-run non-profit. I was named to the Patriot League Academic Honour Roll from 2014-2018, and was elected co-captain for my junior and senior seasons.

Throughout my time in Ireland, I will be studying at The Cork Institute of Technology in the International Business Masters program while coaching and playing basketball. As the youngest of five children and an individual who has been empowered by countless mentors, my hope is that I can become a similar role model and positively influence young kids. With this, I am thrilled to embark on my journey as a Victory Scholar and am honoured to have the opportunity to engage in the Cork community through the sport that continues to change my life for the better.
