Hi everyone! My Name is Rebecca Carmody, I am 22 years old and my hometown is Waymart, Pennsylvania, just outside of Scranton, Pa. I just recently graduated from Binghamton University, where I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development. I am eager and thrilled to be apart of the Sport Changes Life Family in Ireland! At Binghamton University, I had the opportunity to be a four year starter at a Division 1 program. During my collegiate career, I was apart of the all rookie team as a freshman, was a member of the America East fall and Spring Honor Roll for three years. During my senior year, I was named Second team all conference, All defensive team, scored my 1000 point, led the league in rebounds and lastly, received Fans’ Choice player of the year. As a team, we received the community service award for two years, constantly reaching out and helping others in the Binghamton Area.
While in Ireland, I will be attending the J.E. Cairnes School of Business at NUI Galway to pursue a master’s degree in international management. I am more than excited to continue to play basketball, attain my masters, and embrace and immerse myself into new culture. Basketball has continuously given me endless opportunities and experiences, and I am looking forward to given young athletes the same.
