Biography

Hello everyone! My name is Faith Welch and I am beyond honored to start this journey with Sport Changes Life as a Victory Scholar for the 2017-2018 year. I am from Albany, NY and graduated from the State University of New York- The College at Brockport this past spring with my BS in Accounting.

I was a four year starter on the varsity women’s basketball team. I ended my career at Brockport as an 1,000th point club member, 9th all-time in career scoring, and 2nd all-time in career assists. My junior year I was named the SUNY Chancellor’s Scholar-Athlete for basketball. I was an all-academic player all my four years and during my last two seasons, I was a member of the all-conference team.

I will be pursuing a Masters degree in Marketing at Letterkenny Institute of Technology while playing for the local women’s club basketball team and serving the community. I will be working with Sport Changes Life to teach the youth in Ireland about basketball and how playing sports, in general, can lead to a healthy, productive life. I am looking forward to making a difference in the lives of young people in my community. I’m excited to start this journey and continue my education while being able to play and teach the sport I love!
