Hello everyone! My name is Marisa Howard. I am extremely humbled and honored to join the Sport Changes Life program and be a 2018-19 Victory Scholar. I am from Twinsburg, Ohio (home of a huge Twins Day Festival), and went to school at Goldey Beacom in Wilmington, Delaware. I graduated in the spring of 2018 with a degree in Psychology and was able to be part of the basketball team for four amazing years. We competed at a high level in the CACC every year and I was named captain my junior and senior year. While in school, I was also heavily involved with our Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, where I was the Vice President for two years and was able to push for change for all the student-athlete at Goldey. I am thrilled to continue getting an education at Athlone Institute of Technology, play the sport I love, and have the privilege of giving back to the community.
I have learned to value the power of relationships and connection and sports. Being a Victory Scholar comes with a lot of responsibility to be a role model and mentor. I look forward to touching the lives of those around me and continuing to learn and grow personally. Sports have changed my life and I truly believe they have the power to do so for all. I can’t wait to start this journey!
