Hi everyone! My name is Alyssa Velles and I am thrilled to be a part of Sport Changes Life as a Victory Scholar. I am from Franklin, CT and I recently graduated from Saint Peter’s University where I majored in Business Management and minored in Sports Management. I was a member of the Division I women’s basketball program at Saint Peter’s and was fortunate enough to have played in every game of my collegiate career. During my four years, I made 165 three pointers placing me 2nd on the all-time career list at Saint Peter’s. I was named to the MAAC All Academic Team each year I was eligible and I made the MAAC Honor Roll all four years.
I will be studying Applied Sport and Exercise Psychology at Waterford Institute of Technology and playing for the women’s basketball team. Basketball has given me endless opportunities throughout my life and I am excited to work with Sport Changes Life to help make a positive impact on the lives of others. I am extremely grateful for this opportunity to earn my Master’s degree, continue playing the sport I love, and make a difference in the community!
