Hi everyone! My name is Shannon Brady, I’m from Scituate, Massachusetts and I am thrilled to be joining the Sport Changes Life family! I graduated from Bowdoin College in 2016 with a double major in Sociology and Art History, and have spent the last year as the Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach at Colby College. I am beyond grateful to be attending Trinity College Dublin in the fall where I will be pursuing my Masters in Business Management and playing on the basketball team. While at Bowdoin, I was named a WBCA First Team All-American, Conference Player of the Year, Conference Rookie of the Year, 1000 Point scorer, and recipient of the Anne E. Dane Award for Outstanding Leadership. I am most proud of the fact that our team was able to make back to back NCAA Sweet Sixteen appearances my junior and senior year.
Throughout my life I’ve been incredibly blessed with influential coaches and mentors who have empowered me and helped me to find my own voice and sense of confidence both on and off the basketball court. My hope is that through this program I will be able to act as the same type of role model and mentor for young people in Ireland. I firmly believe sports have the power to build character, bring people together, and change lives and I cannot wait to begin this new chapter as a Victory Scholar!
