Hello everyone! My name is Aryn McClure and I’m super excited and honored to join Sports Changes Life as a Victory Scholar for the 2019-2020 year! I was born and raised in Queens, New York. I attended Quinnipiac University for four years where I received a degree in Public Relations and Media Studies. At Quinnipiac I was fortunate enough to attend the NCAA tournament three years in a row. I assisted the team in reaching the Sweet Sixteen my sophomore year, where we lost to the national champions the South Carolina Gamecocks. Throughout my collegiate play I received several accolades including three MAAC Championships, Rookie of the Year, two-time MAAC Preseason Player of the Year, four-time All MAAC Tournament Team, and two-time MAAC first team.
I will be attending Cork Institute of Technology where I’ll pursue a master’s in International Business. As a head coach for at-risk teens in inner city New York I’ve helped implement the use of sports to redirect and enlighten children on the endless opportunities that life can offer despite their current circumstances. I have high hopes as a Victory Scholar to help influence the children of Ireland and become a positive role model in their lives.
