Hi everyone!! My name is Jasmine Walker and I am very honored to be a part of the Sport Changes Life program. I am from North Brunswick, New Jersey and I graduated from Monmouth University where I played on the women’s basketball team. While studying at Monmouth, I earned a bachelor’s degree in Finance and Economics and a master’s degree in Business Administration. In addition, I was inducted into the business honors society Beta Gamma Sigma, volunteered as an academic tutor, and served as team captain for three years on the women’s basketball team. During my senior season, I was also nominated for NCAA Woman of the Year.
This year, I will be attending Waterford Institute of Technology to study Global Financial Information Systems. An opportunity to study abroad, play basketball, and most importantly, help the community is extremely worthwhile and presents new challenges to help me step outside of my comfort zone. I hope that, not only can I have a lasting impact in Ireland through my work with Sport Changes Life, but also be impacted by those I have the pleasure of meeting.
