Peace, Love, & Happiness World. My name is Brittney Dunbar and I am honored to have been chosen to be a Victory Scholar and part of the Sport Changes Life team. I am from St. Petersburg, Florida. My first two collegiate years I studied at St. Petersburg College and graduated with my A.A. degree. I then transferred to Weber State University and after two more years I attained my Bachelors in Science. In my senior year, I started all 35 games and was team captain. I was named the Defensive Player of the Year in the Big Sky Conference and set the record for the most steals in a single season. I also helped lead my team to the best season in program history.
I will be studying at Waterford Institute of Technology and playing for the women’s basketball team. I will also be getting the chance to work with Sports Changes Life and hopefully make a lasting impact on the lives of youth in the community. Education, making a difference in people’s lives, and playing the sport I’ve loved for so long; almost sounds too good to be true. I can’t even come up with enough words to express how appreciative I am for this opportunity. I couldn’t be more ready to begin this next chapter of my life and embrace the journey!
