Hey everyone! My name is Sarah Fairbanks and I was born and raised in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania. I attended Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for four years, where I studied Interdisciplinary Health Services and played for the women’s basketball team and women’s outdoor track and field team. For basketball, I was part of an Atlantic 10 Conference Championship, a two-year NCAA Tournament participant, was a two-year captain, and a 1,000-point scorer. After basketball was over, I participated in the shot put and discus throws as a walk-on for Saint Joe’s track and field team. I eventually broke the school records in both events.
I will be attending Dublin City University (DCU) to earn my M.Sc. in Management this year. I am excited to expand my knowledge with a business course and be able to apply it to my health and sciences background. What I am really looking forward to is sharing my love for the game of basketball with the youth in the community. Saint Joe’s, being a Jesuit institution, has taught me to be a woman with and for others. Sports Changes Life is the perfect opportunity for my aspirations in life! I can’t wait to see what unfolds!
