Hello all! My name is Gene Williams. I am from Broomall, Pennsylvania, which is just outside of Philadelphia. I attended high school at St. Joseph’s Prep and college at Johns Hopkins University, majoring in economics and minoring in Entrepreneurship & Management. At Hopkins, I was a four-year letter winner and co-captain during my senior season. In that same year, I was named to the all-conference/academic all-conference teams and selected as the conference’s scholar-athlete of the year. I finished my career fourth all-time in school history for three-point field goals attempted and made (I like to shoot if you couldn’t guess).
I’ve played basketball my entire life and am fortunate that it has provided many opportunities. One such opportunity is the chance to become a part of the Sport Changes Life program, through which I will continue to play basketball in Ireland’s National League, further my education by earning a master’s degree in International Management at NUI Galway, and coach/inspire the youth of Ireland. To experience all of this in Galway is a dream come true and I could not be more excited to get started!
