Hello Everybody, I’m Brittney Waters from Capitol Heights, Maryland. I’m delighted and blessed to be one of the Victory Scholarship recipients, throughout my life I have overcome so many obstacles that I thought were unbearable, or just simply unfair. I know without basketball I wouldn’t be where I am today, I’m thankful for the opportunity to have played women’s basketball at the first HBCU (Historically Black Colleges & Universities), The Lincoln University (LU), PA, where I received my BSc in Accounting.
I’m excited to bring what I have learned from LU and my game over to Northern Ireland for the Ulster Rockets in the Irish Women’s Superleague and getting my Masters in Business Studies at The University of Ulster. I am hoping that after my opportunity of being a mentor to at risk children that they too will love sport, and most of all realize that they too can make their dreams come true.
