My name is Lillian McCabe and I’m from Rye, New York. I played basketball at Davidson College for four years, where I earned a BA Cum Laude in Religion and History. As a Wildcat, I made Academic All-SoCon honors, and was on the A-10 Commissioner’s Honor Roll. This year, I will study at IT Carlow, where I will pursue a Masters in Business.
I am relishing mentoring. My older sister Theresa was an integral figure throughout my basketball career; I looked up to her as a player and as a role model. Her enthusiasm for the game was infectious, and inspired me to follow my passion. I hope to be that same figure for the youths: a coach and role model who inspires others to follow their dreams. I am honoured by this opportunity that I have been awarded. It is a dream of mine to live in Ireland, and the opportunity to do so while also working with young people, studying, and playing basketball is more than I could have ever hoped for. I am so excited about this journey ahead!
