I am Ryan Ansel from Fort Washington, Pennsylvania suburb about 30 minutes from Center City Philadelphia. After being a Davidson Wildcat for four years, I now get the incredible opportunity to transition into being an Ulster Elk, another year of basketball, the chance to earn an MSc in Sport Management and the experience of pursuing the passion of coaching and mentoring youth. I was fortunate in my life to have a number of mentors, two of whom were exceptional. My coach, friend and older brother David, along with my most recent coach Bob McKillop of Davidson College changed my life and will always have a positive defining presence in my future success. I want to make that same kind of positive impact in the lives of others as a coach, teacher and leader. As a recent graduate with a BSc in Psychology from Davidson College, I look forward to using my education, sports and my experience in community engagement for the benefit and mentoring of the youth in Northern Ireland. I am excited and honored to be a team member and look forward to my time in Jordanstown.
