Hi guys, my name is Ryan Sappington and I am from Barboursville, Virginia, a small town at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Following boarding school at a soccer academy in Minnesota, I attended Bucknell University where I majored in psychology and philosophy and played four years of Division I soccer. Like Sarah, I will be attending the University of Limerick, but pursuing a master’s degree in work and organizational psychology. I will also be playing for the UL Men’s soccer team and a local amateur team. During my time at Bucknell, I was a part of various organizations including SAAC and Bicycles Against Poverty, while also volunteering as a youth soccer coach for various ages.
Ireland is a beautiful country with a fantastic culture, and I can’t wait to explore the academic, athletic, and volunteer opportunities the Victory Scholarship has to offer. Thank you to Sport Changes Life for the opportunity and I hope I can make an impact with these kids throughout the year so that I can give back in some way!
