Hi, my name is Shelby Smith and I’m from Ames, Iowa. I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Saint Joseph’s with a BSc in Finance and served as captain of the 2013 A-10 Championship-winning SJU women’s basketball team. As a member of the SJU team I was able to be a part of our community service program which involved service activities including Hawks Against Cancer, Hawks for Margo, Kristin’s Krusade, and the Dash for Tissue and Organ Donation Awareness. We were also heavily involved in service at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and Philly Girls Got Game.
I am headed to Trinity College in Dublin to pursue my MSc of Finance. I will be playing and coaching in the local community of Dublin. I’m deeply honored and extremely excited to be a part of the Sport Changes Life program as a Victory Scholar. I am eager to meet new friends, gain new experiences, and make some amazing new memories!
